Requirements
- Have at least a university degree or a vocational training degree from a technical field (e.g., engineering) or a financial/management related field, and at least 2 years of professional experience in the field of solar PV
- At least 3 years of experience as a trainer in solar PV trainings, preferably with at least one year's experience as a trainer in solar PV project management/development
- Fluent in English
- Agree to participate fully in the RENAC Train-the-Trainers (TtT) programme and take the final exam
- Agree to conduct any pilot trainings in Uganda – to be confirmed

Target audiences
- Solar PV project developers: Self-employed, or Employees of development companies.
This course is a training programme directed towards project developers of solar PV projects, where the focus will be on captive solar PV systems, usually developed for self-consumption, usually installed on rooftops (but not necessarily).
Note: This training programme will be delivered by local trainers in Uganda who will be selected to take part in a Train-the-Train-Programme including didactics and teaching methods.
Why attend:
The TtT training has two main objectives, one for each of the two categories of competences, namely didactical-methodological related competences and technological/technical-related competences, where the didactics-related competences can be applied to any other training programmes that may need to be conducted by the local trainers.
The objectives of the technological/technical related part of the TtT are to learn technical skills and know-how that form the basis for understanding the job duties and tasks of solar PV project developers as well technical, commercial/financial, and legal aspects of solar PV Systems.
The Programme highlights are:
- 5-half-day online training (12 to 16 participants)
- 5-day interactive training course (12 to 16 participants)
- 5-day pilot training that will be conducted by chosen trainers who were trained in the 5-day interactive
- training course
- In-depth training on technical, commercial/financial, and legal aspects of solar PV projects
- Group work, discussions, and case studies as well as Excel-based calculation tools related to the topic
Each part of the programme will take place on the following dates:
- 5-half-day online training from 26th February to 1st March 2024 (two days from 08:30 to 13:30 and three days from 8:30 to 11:45 Kampala time). This training will take place virtually.
- 5-day interactive training course from 11th to 15th March 2024 from 08:30 to 16:45 at the RETC centre Nakawa Vocational Training Centre in Kampala
- 5-day pilot training from the 18th to the 22nd of March from 08:30 to 16:45 at the RETC centre Nakawa Vocational Training Centre in Kampala
This training will be held in English language.
